I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
